Welcome to the family

You just trusted Jesus.

He paid 100% of your punishment, and there is nothing left for you to pay. Here's what comes next.

First things first

You can be 100% sure of Heaven!

"I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand."John 10:28

"I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life."1 John 5:13

What's next

5 simple steps

  1. 1

    Read the Bible every day.

Start with the Gospel of John. At least read one chapter a day. It was written so you could know more about who Jesus is.

"but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name."John 20:31

  2. 2

    Talk to God.

Prayer is just talking to God. Thank Him for what Jesus did. Tell Him what's on your heart. You don't need fancy words. Make it a habit to give thanks to God in ALL circumstances! God is in control, so ask Him for the things you want. But know that God doesn't owe us anything, and He will grant your prayers only if He wills. So pray according to His will, not yours.

"give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."1 Thessalonians 5:18

"do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God."Philippians 4:6

"And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us."1 John 5:14

  3. 3

    Find a good church.

You weren't meant to do this alone. Find a church where God's Word is preached faithfully from the Bible. Make sure the Bible is the ultimate authority they check everything with, and that they teach this same message: Jesus paid it all, and we trust Him alone to get us to heaven, NOT our good actions.

"And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near."Hebrews 10:24-25

"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work."2 Timothy 3:16-17

"Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so."Acts 17:11

  4. 4

    Get water baptized.

Being dunked in water doesn't save you. Jesus already did that. Baptism is how you publicly show everyone you've put your trust in Him, and Jesus told us to do it. Ask your new church about it.

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit"Matthew 28:19

  5. 5

    Tell someone.

Think of the people you love. If they died today, where would they go? Share the Gospel with them, or send them the quiz.

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek."Romans 1:16

What you just trusted

The Gospel in 4 lines

  1. 1
    We have all sinned.

    Every lie, every angry word.

"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"Romans 3:23

  2. 2
Sin deserves punishment, and that punishment is hell.

"For the wages of sin is death"Romans 6:23

  3. 3
Jesus took 100% of it on the cross, and rose again.

"He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree"1 Peter 2:24

  4. 4
Trust Him alone, and you can be 100% sure you'll go to heaven when you die.

If He took 100% of your punishment, there's 0 left for you. Not good works, not asking for forgiveness, not baptism. A free gift.

"that you may know that you have eternal life"1 John 5:13

Don't trust Him, and you pay for your own sins in hell forever.

"whoever does not believe is condemned already"John 3:18

Nobody knows if they'll wake up tomorrow. So trust Him today.

"behold, now is the day of salvation"2 Corinthians 6:2

When you sin again

You're still His.

You will sin again. Every believer does. But Jesus paid for your past, present, and future sins, so you are still saved. Now you fight sin because you're thankful, not because you're afraid.

"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."Romans 8:1

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."2 Corinthians 5:17

I'd love to hear from you, and I'll pray for you.
